Whilst at Fox Sports Grill, during the same event where I made eyes on the Sagittarius, my actual reason for being there was a VIP event for former Miss America pageant winner and actress Kenya Moore. She was holding a book signing for her new book “Game, Get Some: What Women Really Want.” No I did not buy the book. However, I had no idea how much this woman had done before writing this book (besides being beautiful). So, in honor of a Detroit native, black women (men too), and for Babydoll, here goes…
From Wikipedia entry:
Kenya Summer Moore (born January 24, 1971)
Moore was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised by her grandmother (and primary inspiration) Doris in Detroit, Michigan. She is of African-American and Native American ancestry. Moore is a graduate of Cass Technical High School; whose other notable alumni include Diana Ross, David Alan Grier, Lily Tomlin, and Miss USA 1990 Carole Gist (the first African American to win). After high school, she went to Wayne State University where she majored in Psychology.
I just want to give a mention to a friend Kyona Cook, Miss Black Michigan pageant winner. You’re next!
She is recognizable for her roles in movies such as Waiting to Exhale, Deliver Us from Eva, and Senseless, along with guest appearance roles in notable sitcoms such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Living Single, and The Steve Harvey Show. However, one of her best acting roles came in the independent film Trois.
She founded the Kenya Moore foundation which awards scholarships to under-privileged girls from her high school alma-mater.
